TP016 Maor Appelbaum + Hollowing - Collaborating Torture cd

Collaborating Torture - a 54 min. piece of haunted drones and black ambient by Israel's Maor Appelbaum and the late Matt Gibney (Hollowing,So I Had To Shoot Him, owner of the rectrix label).
over the last few years Maor Appelbaum has turned to be a prolific artist due to his works in poochlatz, grave in the sky ,thy Mesmerized and vultures and his countless collaboration & solo projects.
Hollowing was another type of artist. he did not leave a lot of music after him but each piece by him has the unique characteristics of his other works. I always imagine it as the body sounds of a lovecraftian demon. a bleak , dark , heavy flow and a pitching pulse , as an unknown beast who wakes up from a long sleep.

Collaboratin Torture was created during 2005 and the work was finished a short time before matt's death. it took it two more years to see the light of day as a collaborative release between Topheth Prophet and Heart & Crossbone labels.

about the artists:

Moljebka Pvlse
An experimental music group from Stockholm, Sweden. The group works with both electronic and acoustic instruments, as well as with field recordings and found sounds. The music is often dark and haunting, consisting of minimal soundscapes built by layered drones. At times, there has been touches of noise and even pop.
The main man of Moljebka Pvlse is Mathias Josefson. He is currently attending the Royal University College of Fine Arts in Stockholm, where he focuses on sound-art. With Moljebka Pvlse he has collaborated with several other sound artists such as Kotra from the Ukraine and Horologium from Poland. For the past few years, Mathias has on many occasions extended Moljebka Pvlse to be a duo both on stage and record with the help of Karin Jacobson. Karin is a singer and percussionist of the band Les Issambres and part of the art-dou Projekt Kameleontkyss. She has also performed in many theatre shows.
Over the years, Moljebka Pvlse has released nine full length albums on many different labels, for example Some Place Else, Fifth Week Records, Mystery Sea, Cold Meat Industry, Fin De Siècle Media and Segerhuva. Mathias also has an artist-run label called Isoramara, where he releases limited editions in handmade covers. Performing live is of great importance, and to this date Moljebka Pvlse has performed live in Canada, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Sweden, the Ukraine and the USA.


SEVENTEEN MIGS OF SPRING
Seventeen Migs of Spring were formed in 1999 in Tel Aviv as an experimental electronics enterprise by two friends a.ka K-76 & B-74. four years later the group has set it's current form as a trio with an additional member, gurfa. so far they released a number of self made cdrs at their own label , zvukoprocessor, and a number of compilation tracks on other labels. they are mainly known in Israel as a live group, and had performed in different festivals and events around the world. SEVENTEEN MIGS OF SPRING is a mixture of different, often conflicting cultural, philosophic and musical influences. It is hard to categorize and label since it always varies from release to release. Always evolving.
